2020 CEU Tracking

Have Your Credits Tracked

February 11-14, 2020
DoubleTree by Hilton, Bloomington - Minneapolis
7800 Normandale Blvd.
Bloomington, MN 55439

The MACO Education Committee invites all members to have 2020 Continuing Education Credits tracked by Century College. If you wish to have your credits tracked, you can purchase this option online (if paying with a credit card) or download the paper form (if paying by check).

The registration form includes an invoice which can be turned into your county for payment. The cost is $45 for the full year and will cover the tracking of the CE courses at the MACO Winter Conference, and both the MACATFO and MCRA summer conferences. You must register and submit payment to Kirk Peysar, MACO Treasurer to have your 2020 CE courses tracked. Registration is due December 31. If you miss this window, your credits will not be tracked in 2020. The registration form also includes a release of information. This release will allow Century College to share information with MACO so MACO can provide certificates to MACO members according to the MACO CE program.

As part of the MACO Education Program, our members have the opportunity to receive certification after completing the necessary amount of hours of educational sessions. The members who have reached the minimum number of hours required (45 hours) can apply to receive their certification. You will not receive a certificate if you do not apply for it.

The process to receive your certificate at the 2020 MACO Annual Conference in February is:

  1. Request a copy of your transcript from Century College (only those who have paid to have their hours tracked by Century College will have this available). Send an email to Sharon.Mason@century.edu to request your transcript. You are the only person who can request your own transcripts, and you cannot request transcripts for someone else.
  2. Forward a copy of your transcript to Jean Prochniak, Brown County Auditor-Treasurer. Email jean.prochniak@co.brown.mn.us, or mail to Jean Prochniak, Brown County Auditor-Treasurer, 14 S. State Street, New Ulm, MN 56073.
  3. Fill out the 2020 Continuing Education Credits form online or using this downloadable form by December 31, 2019.

The deadline to submit your transcripts is December 31, 2019. The certificates will be distributed on Wednesday, February 13, 2020 during the MACO Conference.

Recertification Program

For those who are already certified, there is now the option of continuing to have your hours tracked for “recertification”.

Recertification will occur when you have at least 40 hours of eligible sessions in a 4 year period. The 4 year periods will coincide with election cycles. Which means we will only distribute certificates for recertification every 4 years.

We have the list of who was certified starting in 2013, however there is no record of prior years. If you were certified before 2013 and wish to apply for recertification, we will need a copy of your certificate. Please scan & email a copy to Jean Prochniak at jean.prochniak@co.brown.mn.us.

The cost to track your hours for recertification is $45 per year.

You can find more information on the MACO Education pages. If you have questions about the program you can contact Jean Prochniak at jean.prochniak@co.brown.mn.us.
