SAFE AT HOME & MARRIAGE

Hello and Greetings,

We have a couple who are here to apply for a marriage license.  They are currently in the process of entering the safe at home program.  I looked at the statute and it seems to only cover property records in our department.  Has anyone else had this situation for marriage licenses and if so what did you do?

Thanks,

Kris

Oh and they do not have a notification from the Secretary of State with them - can someone send me what that form would look like? Thanks.

By reviewing the SOS website I was able to piece together how to proceed here is what we did:
Collect applicant(s) name or names
Collect applicant(s) date of birth
Collect the Lot Number assigned to them by the
Secretary of State’s Office (Minnesota only)
FYI: A Safe At Home address/lot looks like:
Lot ###
PO Box 17370
St. Paul MN 55117-037

Contact Secretary of State MN to verify participation of at least
One applicant (Toll Free: 1-866-723-3035)
After Confirmation by Secretary of State contact applicant
to come in and finish application process

DO NOT ENTER ANY INFORMATION INTO MOMS
Only use address given by Secretary of State for both applicants even if only one is enrolled in the program
